Frequently asked questions
Do I need a fog machine for the swamp effect?
Yes. The beam needs something to catch. A fog machine is not included, but any basic low-fog or standard fog machine works. Without fog you'll still get patterns on surfaces, just not the glowing mist look.
Will it work if my street has lamps or porch lights?
It works best in real darkness. Turn off nearby porch lights and aim it away from streetlights. The darker your yard, the stronger the effect looks.
Can I leave it plugged in outside all night?
Yes. It's made for outdoor use through the season. Just run the cord along a fence or edging so nobody trips on it.
Does it work on walls and trees, or only through fog?
Both. Angle it up and it casts patterns across trees, fences, and siding. Angle it low and flat, and it turns fog into a glowing swamp.
How to use
- Step 1: Stake or set Swampglow low to the ground, about 10 to 15 feet back from the area you want to light.
- Step 2: Plug it in after dark. Loosen the bracket and tilt the head so the beam runs flat and low, then lock it.
- Step 3: Start your fog machine and let the fog settle for 1 to 2 minutes. Low, slow fog works better than a thick blast.
- Step 4: Press the button to switch patterns until you find the look you want. Leave it running for the night.
